I
have been working several years on this special portion of the
garden. As you can see Mary is the focus of this grotto
with azaleas underneath and a white Lady Banks rose above.
We will be crowning Mary this May in her special place of honor
in our garden. The Godfreys. |

On Tue, Apr 20, 2010 at 11:46 PM I read the article on your
website about the sexual abuse in the church. Seriously,
these priests need to go to jail. Do you really think
praying about it is going to help? You'd do better to call
911 after services on Sunday just in case.
...Jim
Not only do we think praying is going to help. We
believe that prayer is the first and most important response.
As an institution of man, the Church is flawed. As an
institution of God, the Church is the spotless Bride of Christ.
We cannot save ourselves without Christ and we cannot fix any
problem in the Church without intercession and the guidance of
the Holy Spirit. All Catholics are responsible to both
support the leadership of the Church as we work to implement
better guidelines and to do what we are individually called to
do to directly address issues in our Church. For most of
us, that means that we pray and pray and pray and make acts of
reparation for sins which so offend the heart of Christ.
Jesus promised He would never leave us and times of crisis are
not exception. As for calling 911, please remember that
with a few egregious exceptions, our priests are holy, dedicated
servants of God without whom we could not receive the Sacraments
of the Church, most importantly the Body of Christ in the most
Holy Eucharist. So we will continue to pray and encourage
all God's children to do so as well.

Thank you all you are responsable for Abyss of Mercy. That's what
I am always looking for, a closer walk with our Lord, but
sometimes is hard to keep on track, to me this is a good
incentive. I go to daily Mass, I go to Adoration and I pray, but
sometimes I do not know why, but it is a strugle, I make all
kinds of excuses not to pray or go to daily Mass. thank you
again and God bless you all
...Fernanda Medeiros
Thank you for the encouraging words Fernanda. I think
we all go through periods when its hard to pray, when it feels
dry and unproductive. Or when all the daily stuff in this
world -- bills, grocery shopping, the kids, etc. seem to take up
your day and by the time you have time to pray all you want to
do is sit in front of the TV or go to sleep! I like to
remember that when we go to Mass, pray, and especially spend
time in Eucharistic Adoration that we comfort and delight the
heart of God. I like that idea, being a good friend to the
Creator of the universe. Kinda cool.
